Alicia Rios (nee Handy) , age 77, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 19, 1943 in San Juan, TX to William and Alvina (Garcia) Handy. Alicia was united in marriage to Eusebio Rios on July 11, 1963. Alicia’s family meant the world to her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great-grandmother. She was our everything!
Alicia is survived by her husband, Eusebio of 57 years; children, Ruben (Lesley) Rios, Roxanna (Eustacio) Diaz, Monica Kinley, Diana Rios and Cindy (Marco) Escamilla; grandchildren, Ruben Rios Jr., Lisa, Danny & Stefanie Diaz, Ryan & Kyle Kinley, Carley Gonzalez, Anthony Rios, Marco Jr., Devin & Jordan Escamilla; great-grandchildren, Danny Diaz, Aliyah, Ariyana, Amayah & Anjylina Salinas, Amelia & Aaron Kinley, Bella, Gianna & Cameron Kinley, Adrianna & Baby Girl (on the way) Carlos; great-great grandson, Giodonni Tellez.
Also survived by sisters, Ernestina (Erasmo) Briones, Kathryn Handy and brother Alberto (Graciela) Handy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and baby son, Rafael.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main), West Chicago. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at St. Mary’s Church , 164 N.
