Andrew Aita

Andrew J. Aita , age 59, of West Chicago, passed away suddenly on January 21, 2022. He was born on May 6, 1962, in Geneva, IL to Allen “Jim” and Phyllis Aita. Andy worked for 42 years as a Maintenance Technician for Spraying Systems in Glendale Heights. He lived life to the fullest and was always looking for his next adventure. Andy loved being outdoors, kayaking with friends and family, building bonfires, taking risks, being a trickster, and making sure everyone around him was having a good time. Also known as "Handy Andy", he could repair anything and his children loved to watch and learn from him. Andy enjoyed puzzles and was a collector of everything. Music was a big part of Andy’s life, the Grateful Dead and Jimi Hendrix were his favorite. Most of all Andy was a great and loving dad and grandpa.

Andy is survived by his children, Amy (Dennis) Organ, Liz Henderson (Fiancée Carl Verive), Ryan Henderson, Cory (Tabitha) Aita, Kimber Aita and Darci Aita; grandchildren, Dennis, Adalind, Alexia, Gianna, Gavin, Jenna, Lydia, Cheyenne, Jameson, Drayden, Corbin, Eliana, Brolan, Archer, Felicity and Phillip; mother, Phyllis Schlim; brothers, Mike Aita and Kelly (Julia) Aita; sister, Beth (Mike) Raduenzel; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Aita; grandson, Bradley; stepfather, Jerry Schlim; stepmother, Laurel Aita; and brothers, Mark, and Tom Aita.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St., West Chicago (One block north of Washington St. & Main St). A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Reverend Dr. George Koch officiating. Interment private. In honor of Andy and his love of tie dye, please feel free to wear tie dye to this celebration of his life.
