H.W. "Bill" Treudt
Long-time resident of West Chicago Bill Treudt, 89, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 in his son's home with his family at his bedside. He was born on October 17, 1923 in Bucyrus Ohio.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, member of American Legion Post 300 and the former owner and publisher of The West Chicago Press newspaper. Bill had been an active contributor to his community before retiring to his home on Kentucky Lake with his wife Joan where he resided for 20 years.
He is survived by his four children: Terry (Nancy) Treudt, Bruce (Norene) Treudt, Steve (Suzanne) Treudt, and Janice (Dan) Sickinger; eight grandchildren, and was the great-grandfather of eleven. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years, Joan.
Visitation will be held at the Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral home 132 Fremont Street (one block north of Washington St. & Main St). in West Chicago on Monday, July15 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m with a service at 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
Paraphrasing from his former publication's masthead Bill was "Cussed by Few, Discussed by Many, Loved by All".
