Bonnie Jean Curby (Schramer) , age 73, life-long resident of West Chicago, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015. She was born on September 16, 1942 in Aurora, IL to John “Bud” and Elsie Schramer. Bonnie was united in marriage on June 15, 1964 to Ray Curby. She loved working with children as in her work with the Shriners, being a teacher’s aide for many years with Mooseheart and working for the Winfield School District in Winfield. Bonnie was a member of the Batavia Moose Lodge 682 and many other church and social organizations over the years. She enjoyed painting, entertaining and just enjoying life.
She is survived by her children, Kevin Curby, Jeff Curby and Kristi (John) Pokornowski; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; father, John “Bud” Schramer; sister, Patty Harker; niece, Debbie Doyle; best friend and cousin, Fran Hartigan and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; mother, Elsie; and fiancé, Ed Korkosz.
Visitation Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Norris- Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. & Main Street) West Chicago. Prayers Monday, January 4, 2016 at 12:15 p.m. from the funeral home to St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield. Mass 1:00 p.m. Interment Private .
