Charles D. Evitt

Charles D. Evitt, age 88, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away on August 9, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 9, 1935, in Fairview, IN to Commodore and Goldie Evitt. He proudly served our country in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Chuck was employed as a street department supervisor for 38 years and retired from the city of Wheaton. He loved hockey and football and was a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bears. Chuck was a people person who loved telling stories. He was quick witted with a great sense of humor. 

Chuck is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pam; daughter, Debbie Evitt and son, Rick (Diane) Evitt; grandchildren, Erica Dilanjian (James McElroy), Alec (Valerie) Evitt, Leah (Justin) Long and Kelly Evitt; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Madison, Bennett, Colton and Alaina; sister, Jan; and relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jeff and Randy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main), West Chicago.
