Charlie Wheeland

Charles Edward Wheeland, life-long resident of West Chicago, joined his wife, Eleanor, in peace on September 4, 2013. Charlie was a loving father before anything else and a good friend to many. His compassion, company, and coffee cake deliveries will be greatly missed. Thank you, Charlie, for your love and guidance. We love you!
Charlie is survived by his two daughters; Carol McLeod of West Chicago and Nancy Planek of West Chicago; five grandchildren Darcy (Santo) Lee, Jerry (Caroline) Planek, Amber Planek, Autumn (Jeremy) Adams and Ashlee (Tyler) Dameron; nine great-grandchildren; Nikki, Brady, Gretchen, Philip, Gavin, Quinn, Eleanor, J.T, and Millie, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor Wheeland, his parents, three brothers, one sister, and son-in-law, Duncan McLeod.
Visitation for Charlie will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2013, from 10:00 A.M until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont Street (one block north of Washington St. & Main St), West Chicago.
