Donald R. Brach, age 67, of West Chicago, passed away peacefully on November 14th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 11th, 1957 in Geneva, IL to William “Bill” and Beverly Ann Brach. He was a 1975 graduate of West Chicago Community High School and played on the 1974 Wildcat State Championship team. Don was united in marriage on September 22nd, 1984 to Colleen Marie Kerrigan. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, fishing, music and occasionally a little whisky. He also spent many years as a talented carpenter. Don was a member of the St. John’s The Baptist Church Knights of Columbus Council 8002 where his love for his community grew even bigger. Volunteering and helping others was something he truly loved. He took great pleasure being surrounded by family and friends but was especially proud to be a father.
Don is survived by his children, Maggie (Sean) Geraghty and Mike Brach; mother, Beverly Ann Brach, brothers Bill (Terry), twin Jim (Sue), and Tim (Tina) sisters, Anne (Ed) Doyle, Mary (Carl) Britton; many nieces, nephews, relatives and numerous friends.
Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Colleen, in 2010 and father, Bill in 2019.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont Street (one block north of Washington St. and Main St.), West Chicago, IL. Funeral Mass on Friday, November 22, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Church, 0S233 Church St., Winfield, IL at 2:30 p.m. Services conclude at church.
