Donald Rericka

Donald E. Rericka , age 84, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021. He was born on August 24, 1936, to James and Catherine Rericka. He was a US Army Veteran. Don was united in marriage on October 28, 1961, to Mary Duca. He worked at AT&T for 32 years where he retired from and where he met his wife. After retiring from AT&T, Don worked as a starter at St. Andrews Golf Course and was a computer programmer for a few small businesses. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports and game shows. Don also coached little league baseball, basketball, and football for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Rericka; children, Donald Rericka Jr., Catherine (Gary) Strum, James Rericka, David Rericka and Mary Lynn Rericka; grandchildren, George Graefen, Sean Graefen and Maximilian Graefen; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Elaine Rericka and brother James.

Visitation Friday, June 11, 2021, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. & Main Street) West Chicago. Prayers Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. John the Baptist Church, 0S233 Church Street, Winfield, IL for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Private.
