Duncan Miles McLeod, age 69, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012. He was born on February 25, 1943 in Oak Park, IL to Donald and Frances McLeod. Duncan was a US Marine Corps veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Carol Wheeland on February 10, 1972. Duncan enjoyed golfing, was a diehard Chicago White Sox fan and fighting Illini fan.
Duncan is survived by his wife, of 40 years, Carol; daughters, Darcy (Santo) Lee of Warrenville and Ashlee (Tyler) Dameron of West Chicago; grandsons, Brady and Gavin Lee; brother, Donald McLeod of Hanover Park; father-in-law, Charlie Wheeland; sister-in-law, Nancy Planek; furry companion, Holly and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; sisters; Lois and Elizabeth; and mother-in-law, Eleanor Wheeland.
Memorial visitation will take place on Monday, December 31, 2012 from 10:30 am until time of service at 12 Noon at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago.
