Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Beutke

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Beutke (LeVelle)age 92, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024. She was born on August 15, 1931, to Alonzo and Ella Mae LeVelle in Ransom, IL. Her father worked for the railroad, so her family traveled around central IL but she spent most of her childhood in Long Point, IL. Betty was united in marriage on December 2, 1951, to the late Gordon Beutke in Long Point where they raised their family until 1962 and moved to West Chicago. Betty enjoyed journaling, traveling, gardening, and playing dominos with her grandchildren. She was a former board member of Tik-Tok Nursery in West Chicago and a former member of the West Chicago Garden Club. She worked at Ball Seed Company and was a substitute secretary and kitchen worker in District 33. Betty and Gordy were faithful members of Chapelstreet Church in Geneva. They enjoyed country western dancing and performing with their friends for many years. She was devoted to her family and lived for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, making them the center of her life.

Betty is survived by her children, Deborah (Dean) Westrom, Mark (Joyce) Beutke and Jeff (Lorrie) Beutke; grandchildren, Jill (Nathan) Jeppesen, Robin Westrom Tardy, Kyle ( Jenifer) Westrom, Joel (Suzanne) Beutke, Lon (Isabel) Beutke, Aimee (Christopher) Rogers, Mandie (Ben) Pierce, Tyler (Nicole) Beutke, Cassie (Jake) Hughes and Caleb (Katie) Beutke; great-grandchildren, Seth, Dalon (Kennady), Claire, Maryn, Allison, Amiya, Kai, Briyalla, Camryn, Collin, Jonathan, Ava, Liam, Ryan, Leona, Lon Jr., Brynlee, Liberty, Callie, Daniella and Hailey; and many nieces; nephews; relatives and friends.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon in 2015, and siblings, Steve, Arnold, Wayne, Edith, Evelyn and Mary.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main), West Chicago. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to Chapelstreet Church, 2300 South Street, Geneva, Il 60134 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
