Evelyn Urban

Evelyn Rose Urban , age 91, long time resident of West Chicago and formerly of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on October 4, 2017 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Evie was born on March 4, 1926 in Sykesville, Pennsylvania to Pasquale “Patsy” and Marie Christian Granater. Evie was united in marriage on February 23, 1952 to Lawrence John “Lorny” Urban. She worked for many years as a clerk for the US Postal Service; a local building developer and Jewel/Osco over 20 years. Evie was a member of the American Legion Post 300 Ladies Auxiliary and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1368 WOTM Chapter 512.  She loved to bowl, play lightning, and loved having fun. Eve was a sweet, loving person and always greeted you with a hug and a kiss. She loved her family and friends and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Evie is survived by her children; John (Judi), James Urban, Barbara (James) Hensel, Susan Decker, Patricia (Robert) Miller and Michael (Carla) Urban; twelve grandchildren; Jeni (Rob) Clayton, Josh Urban, Michael Urban, Gary Kranz Jr., Bridget Kranz Kerley, Adam Decker, Evan Decker, Reanne Miller, Justin Miller, Jake Urban, Alyssa Urban and Dominick Urban, 2 step-grandchildren; Brittnay Hensel, Mathias Hensel; six great-grandchildren; Taylor, Jake, Payton, Shauna, Marisa and Anthony; sister, Margie Tauses and many nieces, nephews; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lorny; parents; 6 sisters and 2 brothers.

Memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. (time of service at 6:30 pm) at Norris- Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1368, 2250 W.
