Florence Smith

Florence A. Smith , 88, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Marie Smith, passed away into the arms of our dear Lord and Savior, on September 30, 2015.

In Florence's lifetime, she received a degree from Mundelein College, worked as a dietitian, and after receiving a masters degree from the University of Michigan, she worked and retired from the government in the Department of Health and Human Service, Administration on Aging, Reg V.

Florence was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas in West Chicago, IL, volunteered for many activities, including being an Extra Ordinary Administrator at St. Mary's Church in West Chicago, IL., and volunteered her services for charitable organizations including PADS.

Florence enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader, belonging to book clubs, enjoyed playing cards, and socializing with her high school classmates with whom she kept in contact with all these years.

Florence will be missed by her cousins and many friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 164 N. Oakwood, West Chicago.
