Gloria Romero

Gloria Gama Romero, age 82. Born August 5, 1929 in Mexico City to Luis Gama and Guadalupe Garcia. She was born into eternal life Monday September 26, 2011. Gloria lived in West Chicago, Illinois for 43 years before settling in Yorkville, Illinois 3 years ago.
Survivors include her longtime companion and best friend of 62 years Candido Romero; loving mother of Gilbert (Anita), late Armando (survived by Maria), Maria Graciela, Jaime (Kathleen), Linda (Peter) Philipopoulos, David (Robin), Theresa (Juan) Velazquez, and grandmother to 13 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 5 great -grandchildren.
Gloria believed in a loving, faith -based family unit and was passionate about knitting and cooking. Her greatest virtue was to pervade love and compassionate to her family and good friends.
The family extends much gratitude to all those who prayed for her and cared for her well-being.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 3 to 8 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. Prayers will be on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 9:30 am at the funeral home and proceed to St. Mary's Church, 160 N. Oakwood, West Chicago. Mass 10 am.
