James Gerleve

James F. Gerleve , 72, of West Chicago, passed away on the morning of January 6, 2020.  A US ARMY veteran born in Chicago, IL on February 5, 1947 to Frank and Marie (Kynsch) Gerleve, he married Doris (nee Koester) on June 26, 1976 in Hillside, IL.  Jim worked over 40 years for the US EPA - Region 5 from where he retired. He loved the outdoors, gardening, and spend time with his family.  Jim was a man that would go above and beyond for his family, adored his granddaughters, and his beloved grand-dog, Romeo.

Jim is survived by his wife, Doris;  daughters, Genevieve Claire Gerleve-Nelson (Erick Nelson), Nicole Susann, and Emilia Renee;  granddaughters Reese and Liv (Nelson);  siblings, Frank Jr., Jackie Wojtanoroski, Peggy Lebron, and Marie Skonieczny; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Samantha Leigh.

Memorial visitation will take place on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 2 p.m. until time of services at 5 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago.
