John 'Bud' Schramer

John J. “Bud” Schramer , age 101, lifelong resident of West Chicago, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 at his home. He was born on September 3, 1917 in Ingalton, IL to John Sr. and Frances Schramer. Bud was united in marriage on June 29, 1940 to Elsie Fitzner. He was a WWII US Army Veteran and was a member of American Legion Post 300 and VFW Post 6791. He owned Bud’s Market for many years in West Chicago. Bud also served as Winfield Township Assessor for many years and was a Real Estate agent. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking and working around in his yard. Bud loved his family and was loved by all who knew him.

Bud is survived by his daughter, Patty Harker; grandchildren, Debbie Doyle, Kevin Curby and Jeff Curby; six great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie in 2012; daughter, Bonnie Curby in 2015; sisters, Mary, Lucille and Agnes.

Visitation Friday, August 23, 2019 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. & Main Street) West Chicago.
