John Winiecki

John W. Winiecki , age 89, longtime resident of Winfield, passed away November 3, 2021. He was born in Chicago on February 23, 1932, to John and Helen Winiecki. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran. John was united in marriage on May 1, 1954, to Sylvia Suchovsky. He worked at Western Electric and then was an engineer for many years at Zenith Corporation and Eaton Corporation. John, with his wife, built their house in Winfield and their cabin in Michigan. He loved spending time with family at their cabin. John loved fishing, boating, home improvement projects, playing cards, and playing softball. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

John is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sylvia Winiecki; children, Suzy (Jack) Love, Sandy (Paul) Marschinke, and Dave Winiecki; grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher (Allie), Jordan (Toni), and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Micah and Chloe; and relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, David.

Visitation Sunday, November 7, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. & Main Street) West Chicago.
