Jose Luis Correa

Jose Luis "Lingo" Correa, age 70, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Luis was born June 18, 1953, the son of Feliciano and Auxilio Correa of Ucareo, Michoacan, Mexico. He was a resident of West Chicago.

He married Maria Martha in 1987. He enjoyed tending to his yard/garden, trains, and watching soccer games. He was a proud retiree of North Western/Union Pacific, where he worked over 40 years. Bayern Munich was his favorite soccer team.

Survivors include his loving wife, Maria Martha; son, Jose (Laura); two daughters, Leticia and Isabel; four grandchildren, Marcos, Maria, Roberto and Roman; several siblings and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father, Feliciano; his mother Auxilio; his paternal grandparents, Fortino and Irene; his maternal grandparents, Inés and Felipa; his siblings, José, Alfonso, and Alicia; and his grandchild, Veronica.

Visitation will be held on September 24, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont Street (One block north of Washington St. & Main St.) Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at St. Mary's Church, 164 N. Oakwood Ave., West Chicago, IL at 10:00 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery.

His mother would say he would 'pedir limosna para dar caridad' meaning he would ask for alms to give charity. If you would like to honor Luis, donate to an organization of your choosing.
