Josefina Moreno, age 85, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away September 25, 2023. She was born in Sabinal, Texas on March 19, 1938.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Evaristo and sons Rene and David. She leaves behind 4 children, Mary Ann, Sylvia, Armondo and Alicia, 16 grandchildren and over 37 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She had a servant's heart and was a hard worker. She was so proud of her work. Her career led her to Owens Illinois Co. where she worked for over 40 plus years. When she finally retired, she enjoyed spending time with her sister and neighbor Mary and her close cousin Lala.
Josefina was the glue that brought everyone all together. Always an open door, a warm cup of coffee and a plate of food. She saw past differences and shortfalls. She loved her family and friends with all her soul. She was forgiving, loving and full of spunk.
To know her was to know her love of babies. Anyone of us can sing the song she sang to them right now in our hearts. She was strong and resilient. To her grave she brings with her, her tortilla recipe which could only be passed down with a pinch of this and a little of that. With this recipe and many more she fed many souls.
She will be greatly missed but we know she is resting in a much better place.
2 Corinthians 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
Josefina is at rest at home with her family and her Lord.
