Joseph M. Steadman

Joseph M. Steadman, age 79, of West Chicago, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 12, 1944 to David and Catherine (O’Brien) Steadman. Joe was united in marriage to the late Mary Sheahan. Joe shared his love of family & his superfandom for the Chicago Bears everywhere he went.  His detailed stories will be missed by all.

Joe is survived by his stepchildren Scott (Adriana) Thurston, Shane (Kathy) Thurston, Shelly Thurston, Steven (Brooke) Thurston and Shannon (Tyson) Meinhold; 12 grandchildren; brother David Steadman and sister Kathy Mojica; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David, and Catherine; wife Mary; and sister, Ann.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, IL. In lieu of flowers contributions in Joe’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
