Karen Browne

Karen J. Browne (Gorski) , age 54, passed away, December 28, 2020, with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 2, 1966 in Chicago, IL to Leonard and Ellen Gorski. She graduated from Schaumburg High School and then went on to Eastern Illinois University where she received her bachelor’s degree. Karen met her future husband, Jeff Browne, at Eastern and was united in marriage April 21, 1990. She worked for ten years as a bakery manager for Cub Foods and then became a Center Director at KinderCare for over 12 years. Karen loved playing soccer, sewing, baking and puzzles. She traveled to 15 cruise destinations with her husband Jeff. Her family meant the world to her.

Karen is survived by her husband, Jeff Browne, of 30 years; daughter, Elizabeth (Ankit) Solanki; soon to be granddaughter; son, Richard Browne (Vanessa Toledo); mother, Ellen Gorski; brothers, Larry Gorski and Ed (Tari) Gorski; sister-in-law, Linda (Rick) Hensel; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Gorski; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Al and Betty Browne; brothers-in-law, Richard Browne and David Hensel, sisters-in-law, Terri Browne and Barbara Collins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St., West Chicago (One block north of Washington St. & Main St). A funeral service will take place at 4 p.m. Interment private.
