LaVern Dierschow

LaVern W. “Mooky” Dierschow, passed away on December 27, 2014 at Presence Mercy hospital in Aurora, Illinois. Mr. Dierschow was a resident of Friendship, Wisconsin for the past 30 years. He was a West Chicago resident from birth to his retirement in 1984. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Dierschow and his mother Mae (nee Hensel) Dierschow; his brother, Alvin “Tuffy” Dierschow, his sister, Adeline Blecke; great granddaughter, Emily Zieche, and his wife Mary Jo (nee Dabney) Dierschow. He is survived by his sister Nora Jane Fisher and his brother Gordon “Musket” (Linn) Dierschow; and his children, Jane Dierschow, David Dierschow, Sr., Marla Dierschow, and Anne (Rick) Bussman; and his grandchildren, Michele (John) Zieche, Richard (Margit) Fotre, Lisa Dieken, David Dierschow, Jr., Karen (Leonard) Jones; and his great grandchildren, Tony Ramirez, Raul Ramirez, Jr., Savanah Dieken, Stephanie Zieche, Nicholas Dierschow, Derek Fotre, Ryan Fotre, Ethan Jones, Autumn Dierschow and Laila Jones; and a great-great granddaughter, Aryanna Ramirez. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Mr. Dierschow was a WWII Navy veteran who was served at Port Lyautey in North Africa. He was a member of American Legion Post 300 & VFW Post 6791 both of West Chicago.
Mr. Dierschow was also known for being involved in numerous civic and volunteer positions.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St.,
(one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago.
Interment Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago.
In lieu of flowers, donation for Alzheimer’s Research Association alz.org, the National Institute on Aging, or SIDS of Illinois.
