Louella M. Carter (nee Kensley) , age 88, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away on August 26, 2021. She was born on December 27, 1932, in Denver, Colorado to Sargent and Marietta (Gaskins) Kensley. Louella was united in marriage in 1961, to James Carter. She was a faithful member of Faith Community Church in West Chicago where she loved the Lord and her church family. Louella worked as a key punch operator before the computer era and then after getting married and raising her family began working at the West Chicago School District. She was adventurous, loved working with crafts, needlepointing, bowling, taking trips and playing the harmonica. Louella loved animals especially her cats and birds. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved her family dearly.
Louella is survived by her children, Phil Carter (Laura Benson), Julia (Steve) Doggett and John (Tracy) Carter; grandchildren, Phillip Jr., Jessica, Melissa, Bobbie, TerreJo, Tim, and Kate; great-grandchildren, Diesel, Kaylin, Ryleigh, Stephen, Analise and Keegan; great-great-grandson, Luca; sister, Sue Thompson-Faber and relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James, great-granddaughter, Regina.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Community Church , 910 Main Street, West Chicago on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the memorial service at Church at 12 noon.
