Luella Danda

Luella Danda of Naperville formerly of West Chicago & Batavia passed away on May 19, 2009 from complications following a stroke. She was born March 1, 1922 in Lone Rock, Iowa to Paul & Mathilda Schmidt. At a young age the family moved to Mapes, North Dakota. Luella grew up & went to school in this area. She married Adolph Danda of Michigan, N.D. on Jan 22, 1944 in Chicago. She & Adolph continued to live in Chicago's Humbolt Park area until 1968 when they moved to Wheaton. Luella worked in Chicago for Guardian Electric & Krasberg for many years. Upon retirement they moved back to Michigan ND where Adolph passed away in 1994. Luella continued to live in ND until 2002 when she moved to West Chicago with her daughter & son-in-law Barbara & Ren Hughes where she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Through her life, Luella was always helping her family in any way she could; many of them living with her until they moved on with their lives. Her home always had an open door for whoever needed something. Her smile was always so bright for everyone. She will be terribly missed by her children Barbara (Ren)Hughes of West Chicago & Adolph Jr.(Jackie) of White Bear Lake, Mn.
Grandchildren Cindy (John) Macko of West Chicago, Brenda(Vince) Elders of Batavia & Scott Danda of White Bear Lake, Mn.
Great Grandchildren Morgan Schar, Courtney & Hayley Macko of West Chicago and Chase, Logan & Cole Elders of Batavia. Brothers Rubin (Lorraine) Schmidt of Chicago and Delmore (Dorothy) Schmidt of Mesa, Arizona. Sisters-in-law Florence Danda of Garland TX, Rosemarie Danda of Grand Forks, ND and Gunhild Schmidt of Lakota, ND. Also many nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph, & brothers Marcus, Gerald, Fredrick, Bob & August.
