Mark J. Helminiak

Mark J. Helminiak, age 75, of West Chicago, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022. He was born on May 17, 1947, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Elmer and Wanda Helminiak. He was a US Air Force Veteran. Mark was united in marriage on September 18, 1971, to Linda Andre. He worked as a chemist over 30 years at Scholle Co. in Northlake and after his retirement he worked at Mobile Pallet Company in West Chicago. Mark was a devout Catholic at his parish at St. Mary’s in West Chicago and worked hard for pro-life. He was an old car fanatic, enjoyed gardening, and was musically talented playing his guitar. He loved his family and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Mark is survived by wife of 51 years, Linda Helminiak; daughters, Heather (Matthew) Shane and Maria Helminiak Hobbs; son, Eric (Sharon) Heminiak; grandchildren, Margaret, Jessica, Catherine, Elizabeth, Susanna and Monica Shane, Anna, Mary, Ben, Joseph, Timothy, Julia, Stephen, and Rebecca Hobbs; brother, Michael Helm and sisters, Mary Ann Vargo and Monica McGuire; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Church, 164 N. Oakwood Ave, West Chicago, IL. Funeral Mass on Saturday November 26, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at St Mary’s Church. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Contributions in Mark’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 140 N.
