Mary Alice Stark

Mary Alice Stark, age 63, passed away on Sunday August 20th. She was born May 13th, 1960 to the late Warren and Elaine (Dieter) Stark. She was one of 9 children and a 35 year plus former employee of Excalibur Refreshment Concepts. Mary Alice was a member of the Fox Valley Lassies Softball Team of St. Charles, Il for 15 plus years, along with playing on many co-ed teams. She was awarded MVP, Golden Glove Awards, and best defensive player at many tournaments nationwide and was inducted into the Illinois Women’s Softball Hall of Fame in 1996. 

She had the ability to make a friend in a heartbeat and was a very loving, caring, generous, and kind person. She enjoyed traveling throughout her life, in recent years taking short trips with her eldest sister, Linda. Mary Alice always looked forward to any family events and visiting with everyone.                                        From day one Mary was a Cubs fan. Go Cubbies! 

Mary is survived by her sisters, Linda (late Charles) Gruber, Janice (Donald) Prill, Nancy (Scott) Shirley, Peggy Whitman, and Laura Stark. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Carla (late James) Stark and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives, and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her partner Lynn Hauger, her parents Warren and Elaine (Dieter) Stark; her brothers James, Robert, and Thomas; her nephews Donald Bloomberg and Gregory Prill, and her brother-in-law Charles Gruber. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25th, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago.  A funeral service will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
