Mary Ann Reckamp

Mary Ann Reckamp (Ryan), age 84, of Carol Stream, formerly of Wheaton, Batavia, West Chicago, and Addison, IL passed away on May 5, 2022. She was born in Chicago, IL on October 18, 1937, to Raymond and Adelia Ryan.

Mary Ann was a very social person who loved to host parties and maintained many enduring relationships with family and friends. She was very involved in her children's lives and enjoyed sewing, travel and buying kitchen gadgets. She started her work career as a legal secretary and did administrative work for many organizations including DuPage County and State Farm Insurance. She was an active volunteer especially with St. Mary's Church in West Chicago, Cantigny Park and taught English as a Second Language. Later in life, she loved taking her grandchildren on field trips to zoos, museums and parks throughout Chicagoland.

Mary Ann is survived by her four children, Mike (Laura) Reckamp, Brian (Cheryl) Reckamp, Karen (Brian) Spears and Tim (Renée) Reckamp; 12 grandchildren, Jeff (Hillary), Ryan (Jess), Joe (Katelyn), Cody, Kira, Christina, Luke, Kevin, Ella, Grace, Callum, and Hope; and great-granddaughter Natalie; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis Reckamp, her husband of 42 years, brothers, Richard (late Pat) Ryan, Jerry (late Nancy) Ryan and John (Kit) Ryan.

A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church (Old Church), 164 N. Oakwood, West Chicago.
