Maurine H. Dempsey

Maurine H. Dempsey (Hartman), age 99, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away into the Lord’s caring arms on June 25, 2022. She was born on October 16, 1922, in Kansas City, Missouri to Ezra and Olive Hartman. Maurine was a member of First Congregational Church and First United Methodist Church of West Chicago. She loved bowling was the U.S. Senior Bowling Champion in the 1970’s and enjoyed playing cards. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Maurine is survived by her children, Susan (late Michael) Cain, Dorothy Derrick, Buzz (Debbie) Dempsey, Stephen Dempsey, and Mark Dempsey; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Packer; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Dempsey, brother, David Hartman and sister, Karen Getz, grandchildren, Patrick Cain, Timothy Dempsey, and Godson, Daniel Hartman. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago.
