Mauro Barbaccia , age 86, of West Chicago, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. He was born on July 31, 1934 in Avezzano, Italy, the youngest of 4 children. Mauro married his childhood friend Francesca Tessicini on July 27, 1958. He retired in 1999 from Standard Marble and Granite as a stone finisher. Mauro always took pride in his home and family. He loved to make homemade wine and loved when his children and grandchildren would help him. Mauro would pick out certain grapes to make it taste better. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Mauro is survived by his children, Nella (Brent) Adams, Rodolfo (Patti) Barbaccia, Domenic (Cathy) Barbaccia, Lucy (late Ken) McDermott and Antonina (Michael) McClary; NONNO to his grandchildren, Tiffany (Kevin), Corey (Vicky), Casey, Julianna, Christina, Kyle, Patrick (Marisa), Nicolas (Dani), Connor, and Francesca; NONNO to his great-grandchildren, Aleah, Mason, Luca, Mica, Colton and Weston; sister, Lydia; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Francesca in October 2020; parents, infant daughter, Antonella in 1961 and one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago, then proceed to St. Beatrice Church , 9701 W. Irving Park Rd., Shiller Park, IL where funeral mass will take place at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
