Myrtle Buehler

Myrtle I. Buehler, age 94, of No. Aurora, formerly of West Chicago, St. Charles and Naperville, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, She was born on February 23, 1914 in Wayne Township to Earnest and Lena Buehler. Myrtle was raised in West Chicago and graduated from Ellis Business College in Elgin. She worked at many places throughout her career which included the West Chicago State Bank, receptionist for Wheaton Eye Clinic, cook for Geneva Nursing Home and a longtime employee at General Mills. Myrtle was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in West Chicago and gave herself in many ways to the community as a cook for P.A.D.S., the West Chicago Lions Club meetings and funeral luncheons held at Church. She enjoyed collecting stuffed animals and tea cups. Myrtle was a special long term caregiver for several families.

She is survived by two nephews Robert (Cherry) Buehler of Aurora, CO and Dennis Buehler of California and one niece Holly Mast of California, grand-nieces and grand-nephews Alyson Ellis, Melissa Buehler, Matthew Buehler and Andrea Buehler and many other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Walter and Robert and her special friend Doris Cutting.
Visitation Friday, August 1, 2008 from 4 to 7 PM at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago, Lying-in-State on Saturday, August 2, 2008 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 643 E. Washington, West Chicago, Pastor Steve Ziegler officiating. Interment Monday, August 4, 2008 at 11 AM at Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin.
