Patricia (Patti) Barrett

On the evening of February 4, 2023 at Northwestern Dupage Hospital, Patti was surrounded by family as she passed away due to a brain aneurysm at 61 years of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joan and John Barrett (who adored her!), her brother-in-law, Dr. Stephen Graham and sister-in-law, Dr. Kelly Barrett.

She is survived by her partner, Frank Ejupi; her children, Caitrin Roe and Brendan Roe; her precious granddaughter, Summer; her sisters, Jean Barrett Graham, Rita Barrett Higgins (Mike) and Mary Barrett Murphy (David); her brothers Joseph Barrett (Rudy), Robert Barrett (Linda) and Dr. Edward Barrett.

Patti was born on December 4, 1961 in Chicago, IL.  She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1983, received a master's degree in teaching and was bilingual.  She loved teaching little ones throughout her life - and they loved her!  She always had a smile on her beautiful face and an easy laugh.  Patti was an incredibly strong woman who leaned on her faith - she loved the Blessed Mother, prayed the rosary every day, the Psalms and attended Holy Mass.   She always enjoyed taking long walks in nature with one of her friends or walks on the warm, sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.

Patti truly appreciated poetry, art and literature.  She was adventurous, enjoyed traveling, swimming, tennis and loved her dog, Shelby.

She had a gentle heart, was selfless, always having a ready ear to listen, knowing just the right words to say to a friend who needed help. 
Patti was kind and gracious to all.  Her greatest love in life, however, were her children and granddaughter -- she would do anything for them!

She will be greatly missed by the many, many people she touched in her life as a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher and dear friend to so many.
