Phyllis M. Sitler , age 87, of Geneva and formerly of Batavia, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016. She was born on August 24, 1928 in Melrose Park, Illinois to Herman and Marie Thoen. Phyllis was united in marriage on May 29, 1948 to Chester Sitler. She was a long time member of the West Chicago Church of Christ where she was active in the ladies ministry and food pantry. Besides being a homemaker, Phyllis worked for many years as an Account Tech at the Illinois Youth Center in Warrenville.
She is survived by her children, Tim (Cindy) Sitler of Little Rock, AR, and Kim Sitler of Aurora, IL, and also Ric (Linda) Alessio of Oakland, MI, Dan (Jackie) Alessio of Hillsboro, OR and Loretta (Jeff) Fincher of Kennesaw, GA; and her grandchildren, Michael (Caitlin) Sitler, Anthony, Angela (Brian) Troutner, Hannah, Rick, Faith (Keenan) Foster, Joe, Dominic, Lucy, Audrey and Elizabeth; and 1 great-grandson Boone, and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester in 2011; brother, Edwin Thoen and sisters, Loretta Alessio and Pat Galpin.
Services will be private.
