Robert Candusso

Robert "Fonz" Candusso, age 62, of West Chicago, waved his final checkered flag and crossed the finish line on Friday, December 13, 2013. He was born in Chicago on April 1, 1951 to Albert and Maggiorina Candusso. Bob worked for Benjamin Moore Paints for 32 years and many years as a flagman at Sycamore Speedway. He was an easy-going person who loved anything to do with race cars as well as fixing anything and everything.

Bob is survived by his wife, of 30 years, Karen Candusso; Children, Bobby (Karen) Candusso, Carla (Matt) Schlick, Tony (Kristin) Standish, Tom Standish and Rich (Shenale) Standish; 13 grandchildren; mother, Marge "Noni"; sister, Ellen Macella (Bruce) and one nephew.

He is preceded in death by his father, Albert.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 4 to 9 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. Prayers Monday, December 16, 2013 at 9:30 am from the funeral home to St. Mary's Church, 164 N. Oakwood, West Chicago. Mass 10 am. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in West Chicago.
