Robert “Bob” Keiler , age 88, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015. He was born in Elmhurst, IL on December 21, 1926 to Albert and Emma Keiler. Bob married Cathryn “Kitty” Keiler on April 30, 1949. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran serving in the Okinawa Theater. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Chicago Title & Trust and then the DuPage County Clerk’s Office in Wheaton.
Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Kitty; his two sons, Bill (Sheryl) of Wheaton and Tom of NE; grandson, Ryan (Lisa); great-grandson Freddy and Emma Lowe, half sister of Ryan; two step granddaughters, Kim (Jay) Bryant and their children, Ian and Logan and Katie (Matt) Wood and their children, Tyler and Noah; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Nancy in 1991 and brother, John.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home,
132 Fremont St., (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial at Calvary Cemetery in West Chicago. In lieu of flowers contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Parish, 140 N. Oakwood, West Chicago, IL 60185 or CNS Hospice, 690 E. North Avenue, Carol Stream, IL 60188.
