Robert D. Laughlin

Robert D. Laughlin, age 89, of West Chicago, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023. He was born on May 7, 1934 in Denver, CO to Harlan and Lillian Laughlin. He was a US Army veteran. Bob was united in marriage on March 26, 1983, to Ethel Field. He worked many years for Whirlpool Corp. in various sales and management positions, including Branch Manager in Chicago and Kansas City.  Bob loved sports, golfing, football and loved the Denver Broncos where he even worked as a statistician. He enjoyed reminiscing over his many travels to numerous countries. 

Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ethel Laughlin; children, Michael (Michelle) Laughlin, Mark Laughlin, Susan Heartso, David (Melissa) Laughlin, Bill (Jennifer) Laughlin and Christina (Jeff) Wiencek; enough grandchildren and great-grandchildren to fill a bus; nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Laughlin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday August 10, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main)West Chicago. A service will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment private in Colorado.
