Robert Mayer

Robert L. "Bob" Mayer, age 88, of West Chicago, passed away on August 16, 2008. He was born on November 7, 1919 to Louis and Marie Mayer. Bob went to Barber School in Chicago and eventually became co-owner of Bob & Louie's Barber Shop in West Chicago for many years. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a longtime member of the VFW Post #6791 and American Legion Post #300 both of West Chicago. Bob enjoyed spending his time outdoors especially gardening and fishing.

Bob is survived by his wife Pearl Schramer Mayer, sons Richard (Joanne) Mayer and Robert Jr. (Gail) Mayer, grandchildren Richard Jr., Brian, Steven, Frank and Valerie, step-children Wayne (Yvonne) Schramer, Warren (Kathy) Schramer, Virginia Posmer, Theodore Schramer and Carol (Bruce) Kerill, step-grandchildren Jesse Schramer, Richard Schramer, Kimberly Schramer, Daniel Schramer, Ronald Schramer, Shawn Schramer, Jason Posmer, Kristine Dimas, Kari-ane Dimas, John Dimas III, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, brother Louis (Beverly) Mayer and very good friend John Dimas II. He is preceded in death by his first wife Mary and brother Arthur.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 from 10:30 AM until time of services at 12:00 PM at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. Rev.
