Ronald Gatewood

Ronald J. Gatewood , age 79, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was born on August 30, 1936 in Palmersville, TN to Roosevelt and Ollie B. Gatewood. Ron was united in marriage to Wanda Lawrence on November 14, 1958. He retired after 27 years of service as a machinist for Spraying Systems. Ron was a hard worker, he loved animals, sports, gardening, and especially loved his family.
Ron is survived by his wife, Wanda, of 56 years; children, Greg Gatewood, Sherry (Michael) Kestner and Steve Gatewood (Sherrie); granddaughters Jessica and Shelby; brothers, Kenneth (Renee) and Dennis and sister, Arlene Hill; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Doyle and Curtis.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago (One block north of Washington St. & Main St).
