Ruth Overton

Ruth E. Overton, age 85, formerly of West Chicago and DeBary, FL, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010 in St. Charles. She was born in West Chicago on April 30, 1925 to James and Alma Poole. Ruth was united in marriage on June 20, 1942 to Tom Overton. She was a volunteer at Woodland Nursing Home for 6 1/2 years and then went to the Council of Aging after retiring with her late husband Tom in Florida. Ruth had a special love for animals.
Ruth is survived by one son; Tom (Sandy) Overton of Dekalb; two daughters; Nola (Doug) Walsh of St. Charles and Linda Overton of Spring, TX; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Tom in March 2010 of 67 years; one grandson Scott Overton; two brothers and one sister.
Memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 1 pm until time of service 3 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago.
