Ruth E. Pfeiffer

Ruth E. Pfeiffer (nee Van Den Hende), age 74, passed away on September 7, 2023. She was born in Chicago, IL on December 28, 1948 to Maurice and Alice Van Den Hende. Ruth enjoyed gardening and was a life-long learner of everything. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Alfred “Fred” Pfeiffer; sisters, Arlene Biela and Dolores Chiaramonte.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Brett (Amy) Martensen and Erik Martensen; Fred’s children, Jeff (Jaime) Pfeiffer, Jim (Sara) Pfeiffer, Laura (Dino) Wingstedt and Charlotte (Ray) Esunis; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Samantha and Chloe;  brother, Fred Van Den Hende; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. A funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
