Ruth A. Thompson, age 74, of Warrenville, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 at home. She was born on December 8, 1936 in Ottawa, IL to Willis and Arlene Tellefson. Ruth worked at several companies which included Fantasy Flavors, Graybar and most recently Electric Power Systems of Plainfield. She was a very active longtime member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in West Chicago where she was a past president of the church council. Ruth enjoyed exercising, traveling, golfing, counter crossing stitching, planting flowers and she especially loved her family.
Ruth is survived by her 2 children; David (Peggy) Thompson of Beresford, SD and Kimberly (William) Rogers of Plano; 2 grandchildren; Marcy (Kyle) Stene and Jared Thompson; 2 great-grandchildren; Haleigh and Colton Stene; 4 siblings; Janeen (Duane) Hoadley, Laurie (Ed) Madigan, Don (Katie) Tellefson and Quentin (Ardis) Tellefson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 11 am at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 155 N. Prince Crossing Rd., West Chicago.
