Scott David Hofer, Jr. , age 75, of Carol Stream, passed away on September 3, 2021. He was born on October 13, 1945, in Chicago, IL to Scott Sr. and Margaret Hofer. He grew up in Franklin Park and attended East Leyden High School. Scott was united in marriage on April 4, 1981, to Nancy Ivanecky. He worked for many years as a Clerk for the US Postal Service. He was very tech savvy and enjoyed bowling and weightlifting. Scott’s favorite actors were Arnold Schwarzenegger, William Shatner in Star Trek, as well as the “Cosmo Kramer” character in Seinfeld. He was also a big Pink Floyd Fan. Scott is survived by his wife, of 40 years, Nancy Hofer; children, Scott III (Jenette), Daniel, Matt, and Holly; granddaughter, Kylie; mother-in-law, Beatrice Ivanecky; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Joseph Ivanecky. Memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. A Memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
