William Gilbert, Sr

William "Bill" Frank Gilbert Sr., age 74, of West Chicago, US Army Veteran, passed away on October 13, 2011. Beloved husband of Kathleen (McBride) Gilbert; father of Robert (Lisa) and William Jr. (Megan); grandfather of Brittany, Joshua and Caroline. William was born on January 30, 1937 to Proctor and Jane Gilbert. He proudly served in the US Army, he was a loyal employee at Commonwealth Edison and he was an active member of his church. Bill loved classical music and going for walks.
Family and friends will gather Monday, October 17 for a 10:00 AM service at Christ Our Savior Church, 0S501 Summit Dr. in Winfield. The funeral will be followed by the burial at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veteran's, http://www.dav.org/donate/Default.aspx or to the Memorial Fund at Christ Our Savior Church, Winfield, IL.
